Moving from Libsyn to Acast+ Problem Solved (check your email inbox for a COUPON CODE for Acast+)

Hello LEP Premium subscribers on Libsyn.

This is another announcement for you. If you’re listening to this, it means you have a subscription to LEP Premium on Libsyn.

With this message I am going to tell you some final, important information about moving your subscription from Libsyn to Acast+.

You’ll also be getting an email from me.

Some of you have tried to get refunds from Libsyn and they told you to contact me, and then I told you to wait until I’d found a solution to this.

I now have a solution to the problem of transferring your 6 or 12 month subscriptions from Libsyn to Acast+.

I AM SENDING YOU A COUPON CODE FOR FREE ACCESS TO ACAST+

TO COVER YOUR LIBSYN SUBSCRIPTION ← Check your email inbox for your coupon code.

Basically, Acast are saving the day here, and they are giving you an individual code which will give you free access to LEP Premium on Acast+ for the period of time you have remaining in your Libsyn subscription.

The Libsyn refunds issue is being solved by Acast who are giving you free access to LEP Premium on Acast+ to cover your Libsyn refund.

I am going to email you the code (maybe I’ve already done it), with specific instructions on what to do.

So please check your email inbox and your spam folder for the email from me, titled something like: “Moving from Libsyn to Acast+ / FREE COUPON CODES for 6 & 12 month Subscribers”

No more episodes will arrive in the Libsyn subscription now

This is probably the last thing I’m going to upload to the Libsyn premium subscription - this message.

All new premium episodes will now arrive on Acast+ only.

Remember, with Acast+ you can get LEP Premium in any normal podcast app (not Spotify because it’s not a normal podcast app) but it works for pretty much all the others, including Apple Podcasts.

You sign up on Acast+ and then you can add the premium episodes to your LEP Subscription in your podcast app. I use PocketCasts on my iPhone, and I’ve signed up to my own premium content (to see things from your point of view) and now my LEP subscription also includes all the premium episodes.

Check my website for information about how to sign up with Acast+ and how to add LEP Premium to your podcast app. Check the PREMIUM part of the menu.

New premium episodes are now available on Acast+ (and more are coming soon…)

I’ve already uploaded P35 Part 2, which is a pronunciation workshop based on my bear story from P35 part 1. There’s a video version of that too.

So, you can go ahead and use the coupon code you have received by email from me, and sign up to LEP Premium on Acast+ to get a period of free access.

Luke, I have already signed up to Acast+ and I still have a Libsyn subscription as well. What should I do?

If you have already signed up to Acast+ and you still have a Libsyn subscription - no problem. You can still use the promo code to get free access to Acast+ for a certain period.

You’ll just have to email Acast support and ask them to apply the discount to your existing subscription on Acast+. They’ll add the code to your account and you’ll get a discount to cover the money you’ve already paid to Libsyn. The email address is support@acast.com

You can write:

“Dear Acast support,

I am a subscriber to bonus content from plus.acast.com/s/teacherluke

Can you please apply this coupon code to my account?

My coupon code is: ……………

The email address for my Acast+ account is: ……………..

Thanks in advance.

All the best,

……………….”

You will need to include the coupon code (promo discount code) which I have sent you by email.

What about my Libsyn account? Do I need to cancel it? How do I cancel it?

You do not have to cancel your subscription to LEP Premium on Libsyn. You can just leave it. It will automatically cancel at the end of your billing period with Libsyn. It won’t automatically renew. So, just leave your Libsyn subscription alone and it will cancel by itself. You can just carry on listening to the premium episodes with Acast+.

More details…

Libsyn can’t offer refunds for 6 or 12 month subscriptions, but Acast have been really helpful and they have come up with this promo code solution.

How does it work exactly?

Let’s say for example that you signed up to LEP Premium on Libsyn in March 2022 and you have a 12 month subscription which runs out in March 2023.

The coupon code from Acast will give you free access to LEP Premium on Acast+ until the end of March 2023 - when your Libsyn subscription ends.

After that free period, you would start paying the normal price per month, which is just 4$ - about the same as a monthly subscription was with Libsyn. Acast only offer monthly subscriptions by the way.

You can enter the code when you sign up to LEP Premium on Acast+ at www.plus.acast.com/s/teacherluke or www.teacherluke.co.uk/premium.

Refunds from Libsyn aren’t necessary because you’ll have access to all the old content and new content on Acast+.

How many times can I use this code? (Meaning: Can all my friends use this code too?)

You can only use your code once, so you can’t share it with everyone. Anyway, I have email addresses of all the people with Libsyn subscriptions, so if someone who doesn’t have a Libsyn subscription uses a code - I will find you, I will hunt you down, I will track you down and I will kill you.

Cancelling Acast+

It’s simple to cancel your Acast+ subscription if you want to. It can be done at any time, so don’t worry you’re not tied into anything here. No strings attached.

Obviously, I hope you stick around and that you continue to be a premium LEPster, because your subscription helps to keep LEP alive and also just I really want you to listen to my premium episodes and use the worksheets. I put a lot of work into them and I really try to give you full value for your $4 per month. It’s a lot of English teaching from me to you. Not just the conversations and rambles that you get in my free episodes, but carefully prepared teaching materials made specifically for the premium subscribers.

So, hopefully you are aware of the value of the content that you get in return for your monthly support to LEP.

Acast are being really nice here by giving coupon codes, because they’re essentially covering the refunds from Libsyn by giving you free access while you still have a libsyn subscription. So thanks to Acast.

So there you go.

So, check your inbox! I’m sending the code to the email address you used when you signed up for LEP Premium on Libsyn.

P35 part 2 is waiting for you there. Loads of pronunciation practice, with a video version too.

Also P37 part 1 is coming very soon, maybe tomorrow. That’s a brand new episode of StoryTime, with another funny story from me with loads of vocabulary, grammar practice and pronunciation practice as well, and the full PDF worksheet and everything.

I’ve also been working on a “What did Rick say?” vocabulary review for our conversation about Boris Johnson in episode 777, and I plan to upload that probably in September, along with new StoryTime episodes which will continue to appear every month.

That’s it for this announcement, and hopefully now that is the end of this transition period in which I have had to manage what has been quite an administrative nightmare. Hopefully now we can just get back to podcasting and premium podcasting as usual.

You might still be confused, which is totally fine. If you have any questions about any aspect of your premium subscription, you can check my website where hopefully I’ve answered all the possible questions but also you can just email me at luketeacher@hotmail.com

Thank you for your attention and thank you for continuing to support this podcast.

I have loads of ideas and I can’t wait to bring them to you.

But for now, bye bye bye bye bye.
